| January 2001 DAVID HAWK’S RETURN TO DOMINANCE by Ethan Boldt Getting big takes work, but staying big while getting ripped? Now that’s tough. But David Hawk, our “personal trainer” columnist and former Mr. USA and Mr. Universe, knew this challenge was ahead of him when he proposed dedicating six months to get his physique back into fighting form, at age 38. His training, diet and supplementation certainly helped him stockpile the muscle. Now, in month 5, can he refine his muscle without shrinking it? His 14-year-old son David Jr. joined him in this muscle-making mission, and he’s experienced tremendous strength and size gains. But can he maintain his hard-won gains heading into day-after-day of wrestling practice, where weight can drop faster than the winter temperature?
To assist them in their upcoming test, the Hawks enlisted several products:
Trac creatine to keep their strength levels high, Nitro-Tech whey protein to
hold on to existing muscle, Aminogen to ensure that their dietary protein was
getting to the muscles, Mega Men to deliver proper nutrients, and the Vivonic
Fitness Planner to make sense of it all. David also turns to Xenadrine for an
energetic fat-burning boost, Androstat Cyclo-Poppers for explosive power,
Alpha Dopa for enhanced muscle growth, InsuLene for improved muscle recovery,
Natraflex for joint protection, and Z-Mass PM to help him build muscle while
he sleeps. Let’s see how the Hawk boys fared this month in their get-ripped regimes. In particular, they hope to show how to shed the fat while shredding the muscles. Give it a go yourself, if you’ve got the guts!
